Avalerion, an Indian magic bird that drowns itself once it has laid its eggs.

Avalerion

Her angels of judgment must be sleeping,
abandoning the task of safekeeping
under the din of selfish abuses
she keeps inflicting without gratitude,
convinced her curses possess latitude
to satisfy all slapdash excuses.

Since providence hasn’t been forgiving,
she still grapples the burdens of living
through gauzy addiction to narcotic
poisons shredding her intellect apart,
setting the pace for her arrogant heart
while demons spin delusions neurotic

to set the ghost upon her busted face
where all those lines trace a path of disgrace
hopeless to disguise behind buckshot eyes.
Regardless the routes that led to her station,
she tossed the key to self salvation
by ceasing to bid her spirit to rise.

A very strong and gripping write, full of clues as to why this soul is afflicted with such torturous conflicts. "she tossed the key to self salvation..." a complete work, that shows cause, effect and reason... excellently written.
