Today...let me engrave the last truth upon your soils before capricious rain washes it away ...

Pretenses

In that cosmic rain
Me a tiny raindrop
Perched much against my will
On your un-inviting lips

And slid down on to your heart
Hoping to catch in those spaces
My name etched in bold
In nothing but golden silence

Somehow…
Black menacing clouds
Helped to cloak my tears
With eternal showers

“Agony and Ecstasy
Are two sides of the same coin”
I suddenly recalled
The words of a self proclaimed sage

You involuntarily pulled back
Your arms as though
By some inner force

I walked on.
September rain was good for pretenses

Howsoever hard we pretend the joy, the agony of separation is never redeemed. The ultimate union is our only dream.

A wistful exposition, Devi. Oddly enough, pretenses have an involuntary upside: the more you see of them, the more quickly you can recognize them for what they are... and deal with them accordingly.
