Please read Gita's chilling "And She was Gone "

And She Was Gone – Part 5

In a moment ..
She disseminated into night
millions of darkness’s particles

I could hear her anklets
wandering through the wet roads

Her perfume still lingered
in my half empty car

The winds came to a screeching halt
The leaves smelled of something I could not recall.
The calm was maddening
The rain fell in straight vertical drops

Why were the droplets assuming different shapes ?
I desperately wanted some chaos
Something to tell me I was wrong
Maybe I was drunk …
Was I ?

My prayers were answered as a shot
Rang through the sheets of rain…

I suddenly realized
I was witnessing shards of my skull
On the wet ..
Slippery road…

“Rapist”…
Muttered the voice still heavy
With perfume…

I wanted my sanity back desperately.
Once again the winds came to a screeching halt..

Almost frightening with griping fear are the images you have painted with your mind here. ' I suddenly realized/I was witnessing shards of my skull/ ' ....like the Twilight Zone.

Wow! Sridevi, this is awesome! The story gets more and more interesting with so many poet friends contributing to it. I won't be surprised if in the end we get a spine-chilling paperback out of all this with many co-authors. Isn't this literary exercise fun?
