My Musings-23- The Devil
Where does the devil live?
I decide I would trace
I took up a worldwide search,
Traveled every side
I went up touched the sky,
Went down to feel the sea
I came out nothing with
I failed, I recognize
Where does this evil hide?
Spent I feel tired;
A respite now I need
I consulted my brain-
A friend in need indeed-
In response it advised:
‘Have rest, as you like
your mind inside he stayed
Once you dared to comb
His trace, he did subside
He would rise again
Watch out for your words
And for your actions too-
That without fail’

Ha ha... So very well put. Nascent evil's greatest talent is maintaining patient watch at the very edge of our peripheral vision.
I hate to say, having come late after a break, I am left with nothing to add as all the rest have voiced their praise. I only say, I am privileged to have read your poems, thoughts and musings which otherwise I might've had to go in search of a Guru for many a times.

Your musings are intriguingly near to reality Kesav - the devil indeed can reside within and often does battle with the God too who inward lives. A fine piece.
people search for god in temples churches and mosques... sad he lives there deep within our mind... nobody searches him there.... what does it mean? heaven and hell exist deep within our minds!

Interesting and true...people are always pointing outward for evil and corruption - but never within...your poem recognizes the existence of good and evil within oneself...
