A Love That Lasts

A love that lasts will playfully trust
And leave plenty of room to live,
A love that lasts will patiently adjust
And is ready to forgetfully forgive.

A love that lasts will witness your worst
And hang on to bring out your best,
A love that lasts may not be your first
Yet erases the pain of all the rest.

A love that lasts sings with the seasons
And dances among the stars,
A love that lasts rings in the reasons,
And tunes the strings on Heaven’s guitars.

A love that lasts smiles in your eyes
And journeys straight for your heart,
A love that lasts has its fair share of goodbyes,
Yet cherishes its moment to restart.
