Tell Me You Remember

Do you remember?
Oh please, tell me you remember
how it used to flow
so freely between us...
that sweet goodness,
intoxicating and plentiful.
It quenched our thirst and
made us want for more.
We hungered for it,
craved its healing powers;
it made us so pleasantly drunk.

That bottle, which used to be lifted effortlessly,
and contained life-sustaining nectar,
has been suddenly corked.
Without time to prepare,
withdrawal is excruciatingly painful...
the soul is left parched,
heart empty of hope,
still longing to smell its aroma,
to taste it,
and devour its heavenly treasure.

Tell me you remember,
and can even still feel its effects
in your heart,
and even deeper,
where passionate sips
of affectionate energy
are savoured,
forever cherished,
and still warm your tender soul.

I Remember...I Remember! How could i forget....Poems, such as yours...as well as this new one! Thus, this poem ,too, will now be added to that list of Nadine's Work i will Remember...that are far too "choice", to forget !!!!!!I guess i was in the mood for a wee bit 'o levitous play....But now to get serious(not an easy task these day's 4 me)....An excellent display of Free-Verse, young lady, and 4 the record, although i cannot recite your work on command...I do indeed enjoy whenever & whatever i read from your Jacket of Pen-Gems. ~FjR~
