not easy to get rid of shadows....

comes at a price. by mollymarie.lessthanthree

Shadow Play

I hear your footsteps
but you’re not there
I hear your voice
but it's from elsewhere

I feel your touch
or so I thought
But it's just my mind
playing jokes

I hear you calling
but it's in vain
It’s just my own voice
echoing pain

I see your shadow
but you’re not there
Your so-called love
now hanging stale

What we reach for eludes us; sometimes we need to do by not-doing, and the what is eluding us arrives on its own. The shadow is there but just out of reach. Arrive within one's self and the shadow arrives as well without reaching at all. The depth of the poem is fantastic a very poignant. A poet friend//RH Peat

You have created an eerie melancholy mood for me Sonya and your feelings are so creatively portrayed, more so too, with the picture you have selected. "hanging stale" really did it for me!

Very fragile but rich imagery in which "shadow" is extended to the senses of sound and touch as well as sight. Beautiful language perfectly matched to the content.

Wow! Excellent! It poignantly expresses the misery of the haunting shadows' torment, evoking the sentiment of the wearying frustration in the vaporous shadows unreality in their flirting tease. Beautiful and so aptly expressed! La, I hope it is not for real for you. Wonderful conclusion!!!
