Summer Beach by â–ºCubaGallery

Summer Was Warm

Cooled now
the hot forehead of former obsession
and drier my salted eyes,
I lift up
a less passionate face to each day's
dawning and realize
as a steadier step skirts around pools
of memory
that I must be sure to survive
and because life
grinds on, vital ideas for a makeover
mean a complete
reviving of joie-de-vivre so I will bend
down and pick up
fresh dreams, rebuild them and thrive,
summer was warm
but other forms of heating, one day,
will replace his love.
