Loss Of Day

The Loss Of Day

To walk the boardwalk toward the sea
to sadly greet the sullen dusk and
the forlorn skreee from drifting gulls.

A pale light breaks across the shoreline
where grey clouds hang low and level
over the ocean’s shuffled waves.

The sunset glares behind a mist and
a breeze presses steady where the land
slips into tides; seen slides into unseen.

Sympathy in your loss of a brother dear Ron - the verse depicts the transition so well - "seen slides into unseen" is so very apt.

Ron, draw a solemn picture, with shades of grey clouds and a slow moving sea. I love the phrase 'oceans shuffled waves. A sad goodbye to your brother, but a very fine poem. Sorry for your loss.

Hey ron ..I am sorry to learn about your brother. May god bless his soul .Kindly convey my condolences to your family...the poem aptly describes a transition where seen is sinking into an unseen ..where one becomes the part of the great creator himself ...

Ron, i am so very sorry for your loss, my friend...The prayers of my family and me go out to your family, in-laws & you with much Respect, Sympathy and Condolences....I am quite certain your Brother must have read your work, and the above piece dedicated to him, is peacefully gripping...spilling with lamentive serenity, and a more than subtle intimation that the two of you shared a love for the ocean & all its quelling nautical elements...~FjR~
