one and the same

Who am I running from?
When I land on your doorstep
Begging to be let inside
Where am I coming from?
When I’ve never been anywhere
Back to where it all began
Somehow it seems to never end
The shackles the chains
They just change shapes
As for the rest of it all
Yes it’s still all the same
You try to hold me back
But it’s not really you
It’s me all over again
When we switch faces
Hover over our bodies
You and me
Me and you
We are one and the same
