This is a re post...a true love story of a couple ..and a special tribute for Elsa..our caretaker in the convent where I used to stay..I cannot forget that last scene..I was a witness to their LAST EMBRACE
To my poet friends who were able to comment this piece before, it is my pleasure then if you leave a comment again..The nuns in the convent prodded me to post this again, for sentimental reason..
thank you so much ..God bless you all

**THE LAST EMBRACE**

You walked as fast as you could
Bringing with you some food to partake
Life is difficult, you have to make do
With the provisions the nuns have provided
For you and your husband to keep afloat each day

Keeping him company
Dependent, relying upon him
Feeling alone, lonely and neglected
Never the love and affection you expected
For many years your hidden heart embedded

He comfortably provided you
With a home you call your own
Tried working night and day
His illness had to wait, he must save
For rainy days, the future has to stay

In the dimly lit room he slept in peace
Never waking to see the dawn
Holding his hands, so frail and cold
You were alone — again, lonely and neglected

You breathe as deeply as you can
You have the last embrace …

I remember this one from last time you posted it sweet Meggie, because it left such an imprint in my mind. It feels so honest, and even if I can feel the love gently reminded within the lines, the sometimes harsh reality isn hidden away either or diminished. Such an effective write.

A hauntingly beautiful poem, Meggie, constructed with both grace and style. The last 'Goodbye' is always the hardest one to say but a day dawns when it has to be said and though parted physically, I am convinced this lovely lady and her husband will always be together Spiritually, until the day comes when, once more they will be reunited beyond the sunset of life. A very touching poem, the story is beautifully narrated, Meggie. Thank you very much for sharing it. God bless this lovely couple always and God bless you always too.....

This is most tender and poignant; the final farewells, with gray memories forever embedded. Artfully and gracefully done.

I can't see any of the videos here either, hence the poetry posted stands alone. This so sweetly conveys the experience and sentiments, beautifully depicting the very sorrowful conclusion to a life with such a share of grief and suffering and the misery of the one left behind to stumble along alone. Very lovely Meggie!

Even though I could not see the video, the poem is absolutely remarkable! Well penned and poignant! THE LAST EMBRACE that was what I wanted to give to my father yesterday before he died early in the morning (07-15-2011) at 7:15 AM. Keep inspiring the World my dear Meggie! Love and Peace for always! ( I posted a poem in his honor titled: TO MY DYING FATHER.)

Beautifully craved "The last Embrace" Meggie...In the beginning she was lonely, neglected and so on. Then in the middle she was happy with her husband and at last she was again pushed to the beginning stage. But there lies lots of difference between the two. Formerly she had a feel of being cornered but in the later stage she is forever left with his embrace and love. From then he has began to live his life within her.!!!

A dignified anatomy of remembrance and grief; you make it seem almost metaphysical.
