i can
pretty much
bet,
when i laugh
and when i cry,
when i meet
an old friend
after years,
when i get
tickled by my
son and his antics,
when i smart
at the bite
of green chillies,
when i nip
my tongue
accidentally,
when i bruise
myself against
jagged concrete,
when i watch
a movie that
plucks the guitar
of my life,
when the brutal
dentist purposely
drills into my nerve,
when i remember
those times that
i cannot forget,
when i miss
a person gone
forever,
when i listen
to a song that
opens a flood
of memories,
when i watch
a moment of
desperate loss,
and when i am
overwhelmed
by joy and pride,
the tear that
rolls down my face,
is clear, pure, and
as salty as yours.
Wonderful! This beautiful poem speaks to the both the personal and the universal. kath xxx
