Melancholy

How I'd love
to disappear
into a world
of crimson cheer
To lose myself
in such a place
and never see
a desperate face

Never another
desperate face...

Crimson cheer...isn't that an apt depiction of melancholy? Wonderful refrain excellently and effectively making the point. Beautiful tribute to miserable reality. Haunting, poignant, yet almost rather lovely. Well done.

When melancholy strikes it seems the whole world wears a desperate face. Personally, I find that avoiding mirrors helps with feelings of melancholy Patrick. Sadly, I'm searching for new specs at the mo, so I'm forced to gurn at myself on a regular basis! Excellent poem though! :) kath xxx
