Aged Eyes

My eyes are dimmed with sorrow
and have aged because of my woes
It's hard to see the future
and what passing time may hold

The truth is in the heart
And what eyes cannot see
Because seeing is not always believing
It's in the heart that sings free

I think you could cut the word "in" in the closing line. Freedom of the heart is spiritual freedom. It is the release of the true self. Fantastic poem in that sense alone. Liberation of the self is the greatest strength to any adversity. Many never find it in their lives. Thanx for sharing this Jo. A powerful 8 lines. A poet friend//RH Peat
