Praise to Jesus
Refresh my Thirsty Soul
By C.E. Hodgson
You refresh my thirsty soul
You bring me up from my despair
Sow joyful tears to my hardened heart
All the while whispering I care
This feeling, like no other
You bring me to your light
I don’t know how I understand
But this feeling is simply right
Jesus a name so wonderful
Left heaven for my eternal life
Kisses my brow in sorrow
As I tarry through earthly strife
I may turn my back
Forget you for a little while
When I turn to face you
You meet me with a smile
Gentle arm embrace
This weathered earthly child
Bring me back to your hold
So tender merciful mild
'sow joyful tears' is admirable...fine usage of words...never seen anyone use it like this...the rhyme in the penultimate stanza brings a feel-good to the whole song...
