Soporific Symphony

Soporific symphony

From my bedroom I can see.
The topmost branches of a tree.
Rustling, dancing in the breeze
The branches play soft melodies
Which soon become a lullaby
And soon I’m sleeping peacefully.

Because the air is never still
the dancing branches can fulfil.
A mothers role and sing to me
And lull me with their melodies
I am content to listen to
The songs they sing forever new

When the dawn breaks and I awake
I watch dancing branches shake.
Sunlight reflecting from the dew
Their morning music bids me to
Arise because the night has fled
The time has come to leave my bed.

I rise and dress then break my fast.
Ready to face the day at last.
My energy has been renewed
I owe the tree my gratitude
For a night passed peacefully
Its constant music soothing me.
