Language of Flowers (A Stellanette)

Profound
This is flower’s language
Profound.

Divine angels guide flower’s buds until
Petals are veiled but ardently scented
Each unique fragrance wafting velvet words
And flower’s language is
Profound.

Mysterious
This is flower’s language
Mysterious.

Flowers adorn hair, clothing, jewels and love’s depth,
Their silent meaning not daring to speak.
Given with right hand “no” ~ with left “yes”
As flower’s language is
Mysterious.

Esoteric
This is flower’s language
Esoteric.

Lovers must know not to voice their secrets
And bouquets of tussie-mussies know how
Numbers of thorns and stems decode their words
And flower’s language is
Esoteric.

Beauteous
This is flower’s language
Beauteous.

As I know Sweet Briar means poetry
I send Japonica’s symbol for love
And the Azalea flowers say “take care."
All flower language is
Beauteous.

Congratulations, introducing us to such a new and novel awareness. Some things move so slowly we miss what they are doing. Plants I have read do respond to sound and not just light. We should attune ourselves to what they would have us hear besides to what they have us see.

"There is good in everything" in Nature and each flower has a message. Alas! "we have given our hearts away a sordid boon"

A wonderful floral poem... I don't know the format's rules but I see the repetition of words and the common structure. So it's well woven... :)

Indeed words from a bygone age...Like much ART from before the First World War....When Love knew no bounds. I hope we are heading in that direction now for your prose gives us that indication. See you there ! Kind Regards. Philip

Beautiful Karin; language of flowers is everything you have said and left unsaid. It really lifted my spirits. Thanks says Sri AUROBINDO IN HIS EPIC POEM 'SAVITRI' the world's senseless beauty mirrors God's delight. That raptures smile is secret everywhere; it flows in the wind's breath, in the tree's sap, its hues magnificence blooms in leaves and flowers'. Thanks Warmly Mamta
