White Silence

Wall to wall quiet now stalks
countryside lanes.
White feathered blankets
pile high icy mounds.
Whispers of snowglow
bring glorious ageless
Light, reflecting intensely
from hard cold ground.

Breezy peace flutters down,
soft-winged as a dove.
Housebound I watch,
as snow sits flouting demands.
Thick cover of white silence
heals noise with lovely
Though dangerous claim.
Snow brings it's own calm.

There is a hush about a snowy scene, which brings a calm. I hope not before another storm. Excellent imagery.

amazing how snow and wintery scenes can be described in such a unique way as you have done here, considering how many poets have written of it! Beautiful!

Seems like we are sympathizing with you here in the Midwest of the U.S. Snow has settled and decided to camp out inviting more of it's family everyday. Your poem I can relate to as snow does bring a peace.

From the wonderful title to the philosphical closing line, this poem gives a unique and beautiful insight view of snow. Snow is piled outside my front door at present and the roads are impassable, but, having read your poem...I'm calm.

Calm and snow do offer an amazingly tight friendship.

This poem is a wonderful and quite accurate description of a snowstorm, Fay, and I know England has had some considerable snow recently. As always, your imagery is as fine as can be and helped make this poem a quite beautiful write. Carl.
