I Cried A Lot

I watched as the plane took off,
and I cried a lot.
apart from my dad,
you're the most important
person that I've got.

I remember when I was little,
we found a dead seagull
on the beach in Bondi,
and you cried a lot
Pop, I get it now.

I wish you lived nearer,
I need to see your eyes,
That's what I'll miss most,
you got eyes that talk
for my heart to listen to.

Guess you and granma
will be home soon,
I hope you log on and
read this really bad poem
before you go to bed -- I love you.

Simply beautiful, Chrissey . The eyes are truly the windows to the soul. I love your poetry.

You're right about the eyes. Whenever people look at faces, the first thing they look at are the eyes.
